The N.C. Arts Council supports and provides resources to writers in a variety of ways. This web version of Literary Trails of the North Carolina Mountains includes excerpts from the accompanying book, a calendar of events and updated links to festivals, bookstores, historic sites, and other travel options. It also links visitors to resources including writers’ personal web sites, libraries, bookstores, and publishers.
Every two years, the Arts Council awards fellowships to playwrights, screenwriters, spoken-word artists, and writers of fiction, poetry, literary nonfiction, and literary translation (next deadline is November 1, 2008). Visit here for more information. We also link to several sources of jobs in the arts—visit here.
